Berdymukhammedov skips Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan and the summit of Turkic Speaking States

On 2 September, 2018 the World Nomad Games were opened in Kyrgyzstan to be followed by the summit of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) scheduled to be held on 3 September.

The Central Asia media outlets reported that President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov will take part in both events but the Turkmen leader did not attend them.

Thus, the summit brought together Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Azerbaijan’s Ilham Aliyev, Kazakhstan’s Nursultan Nazarbaev and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban are attending the event as honoured guests.
