Central Asian Football Federations Discuss Possibility of Hosting World Cup

Heads of football federations of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan discussed the possibility of holding World Cup and joint organization of tournaments of international level during the meeting of the Central Asian Turkic nations’ football federations in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan on July 18, Kyrgyz football federation reported.

President of the Kyrgyz Football Union Mederbek Sydykov, head of the Kazakhstan's Football Federation Adlet Barmenkulov, head of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan - Arslan Aynazarov and First Vice-President of the Football Association of Uzbekistan - Ravshan Irmatov took part at the meeting.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of projects to construct the infrastructure necessary for training camps for football players and referees.

On July 19, during the GCC-Central Asia summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to organize the First International Sports Games of Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan is ready to offer modern sports infrastructure and create the most favorable conditions for the participants of the Games.
