China to Expand Digital Trade With Central Asia

China intends to expand its trade relations with Central Asia in digital commerce, Xinhua news agency reported, citing Shu Jueting, a Spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce as saying at a press conference on Thursday.

China encourages its enterprises to set up warehouses in Central Asian countries and supports companies from these states that register on Chinese e-commerce platforms. China is also willing to share experience in developing cutting-edge digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and 5G, Shu said.

The official added that China welcomes more quality products from Central Asia to enter its market.

In addition, China will promote the construction of cross-border infrastructure facilities, strengthen cooperation in oil, natural gas, new-energy minerals and other sectors, and expand imports of quality farm produce from Central Asian countries, said the spokesperson.

Shu stated that China will also enhance cooperation with Central Asian countries within multilateral frameworks and supports early accession to the World Trade Organization for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
