Turkmenistan, where all foreign social networks are blocked, has launched its own social network called BizBärde (“We are here”).
During the presentation, the CEO of the software company “Sungat eseri” Eziz Beknazarov was quoted as saying: “We have invested a lot of time and efforts to make our product appealing to our users and were faced with lots of constraints. BizBärde is not perfect but in many parameters it does not lag behind its analogues, which enjoy popularity in Turkmenistan”.
The social network was launched based on the social network script wowonder and is accessible through a browser or its own mobile Android application.

According to the media outlet Turkmenportal, it is not the first time when social networks have been opened in Turkmenistan.
Thus, in 2013 the social network Arzuw was established, in 2015 the social network YASHLYK.COM with imenami.tm being the latest one.
At the moment none of them is operational.
