Collective Talent of the String Orchestra: Outstanding Names and Bright Ideas

The String Orchestra under Takhir Ataev has given a concert in the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory’s Big Hall. The end of May marks a momentous occasion for the Orchestra conducted by Takhir Ataev.

Two years ago, in 2018, when their Orchestra was established, the musicians were standing on the same stage receiving congratulations. They have managed to win recognition and the hearts of audiences over such a short amount of time.

Takhir Ataev attributes their success to these three factors: the Turkmen public’s growing interest in classical music, a conceptual approach to concert programs, and the excellence and a high level of competence of the Orchestra.

I would like to add only one thing: the wonderfully talented, creative and inspired young musicians joined together to rediscover themselves in music and music in themselves.Takhir Ataev arranged the program in such a way that student performers could demonstrate their individual talent.

Violinists Ogulsona Yazova and Altyn Nurmuradova presented Pablo de Sarasate’s Navarra. The flawless performance filled with a romantic elevation and characteristic dramatic contrasts drew a round of applause from the audience. - We love this piece of music very much and we tried our best to convey its mood and springy rhythms, the violinists said during a conversation.

Contrabass player Guvanch Saryev, who played Tarantella’ by Reinhold Gliere, captivated the listeners with his rendition and won shouts of “Bravo”. - The contrabass is rarely heard as a solo instrument, Takhir commented, but we had Gliere’s brilliant work and excellent contrabass player Guvanch.

This was the key to success. The concert, which also featured works by Edvard Grieg, Claude Debussy, Anton Arensky, Jules Massenet and Kara Karaev, offered the music enthusiasts an enjoyable and rich experience of romantic and wonderfully poetic music and soul-stirring performances.
