Cooperation between media and government authorities on the agenda of the OSCE seminar

The seminar on the skills of efficient cooperation between government authorities and mass media took place in the Turkmen capital.The seminar was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat.

Opening the seminar, Head of the OSCE in Ashgabat Centre Natalya Drozd underlined the importance of the training in the context of the implementation of the digitalization concept in Turkmenistan.

It was noted that the main goal of the training course was the improvement of online mass media.International experts Marek Bekerman, who has worked for BBC for many years, and Eva Lukasik, representing the Press Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, shared their experience in creating government websites as a tool to increase public awareness, as well as told about the aspects of developing the dialogue between mass media and government authorities.

The programme of the training course included theoretical and practical classes.As it was noted during the training, it is necessary to correctly define the communication strategy of a public body and use online information tools.

International experts from the UK and Poland covered a wide range of issues, including online public awareness tools, specifics of communication strategies of government agencies and other priority vectors of information and news work.
