1.A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of Afghanistan.The negotiations touched upon the issue of regional cooperation in the water sector.
In particular, the Turkmen side drew the attention of the Afghan delegation to three important issues: the need for a scientifically based and verified approach to water abstraction from transboundary rivers; providing hydraulic structures under construction on transboundary rivers with highly qualified personnel; and unconditional respect for the interests of all states located along transboundary rivers, on the basis of international law.
2.According to information from the Muftiate of Turkmenistan, the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in 2024 will begin at dawn on March 11 and will last until the night of April 9.
The Oraza bayramy, marking the end of fasting, will be celebrated at dawn on April 10.Muslims will celebrate the blessed night of Gadyr gijesi, symbolizing spiritual purity and virtue, on the night of April 5-6.
The timetable for suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and iftar (evening breaking of fast) during the fasting period of Ramadan for residents of Ashgabat, Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Mary and Lebap velayats is available on Turkmenportal.
3. 266 mothers of Turkmenistan were awarded the honorary title “Ene Mahri”. The corresponding Decree was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on March 7. The honorary title “Ene Mahri” was established in 2008. It is assigned to mothers who have given birth and raised eight or more children.
4.On March 17-19, Turkmenistan will host large-scale events dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the formation of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated December 20, 2023, preparations are underway to hold an exhibition and conference at a high level.At the exhibition, more than 200 members of the UIET, specializing in various industries, will present their products and achievements over 16 years of work.
5. Large-scale preparations are underway in Turkmenistan for the celebrations on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday - International Nowruz Day. The main holiday celebrations in Ahal velayat and the city of Ashgabat will take place on March 21 in the town of “Novruz yaylasy” in the Ak Bugday etrap.
6.A number of joint stock companies in Turkmenistan will be transferred to the jurisdiction of the State Association of Food Industry, created in February of this year, to improve the supply of quality food products to the population.
On the basis of the designated joint-stock companies, it is planned to create factories for the production of dairy products and butter.
