Due to the fault of people, approximately 7,12 tons of space waste have accumulated on Mars

Despite the absence of people on Mars, man-made waste has already accumulated there. Over 53 years of space missions, 7,12 tons of debris have accumulated on the Red Planet. This was reported by “MIR 24” with reference to The Daily Mail.

Among the Martian debris there are metal fragments, screens, parachutes, blades, drills, fabric mesh, as well as failed devices. For example, the Soviet “Mars-2” lander, the first artificial object in history to touch the surface of Mars (1971), the British “Beagle-2” spacecraft, with which contact was lost after landing in 2023, and the NASA Ingenuity helicopter, which completed its mission in 2024 due to breakdown.

Scientists have emphasized the need to maintain a balance between scientific advances and environmental conservation on other planets. The solution to the problem is spacecraft that do not shed components when landing on Mars or can return back to Earth after completing research.
