Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he will not participate in the 2028 elections, Anadolu reports. The president said local elections scheduled for March 31 would be his last vote. According to the state Anadolu Agency,

Erdogan is the most influential politician in modern Türkiye, having led the country for more than 20 years. He has won more than ten elections since 2002 and was re-elected to a new five-year term in the May 2023 elections.
