Fashion shows of Turkmen national clothing will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan from January 7 to 9, timed to coincide with such an important event as the inclusion of Ashgabat in the UNESCO network of creative cities.
A series of events will be held at the Ashgabat Fashion House with the support of the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO and the city administration.
Such well-known fashion houses in the country as Mahirli Zenan, Nur Yupek and Peyker, as well as models from the Ashgabat Fashion House, take part in the shows.
As part of the shows, there will be exhibitions of Turkmen national öýme scarves, national textiles “keteni” and Turkmen embroidery, carpets and rugs. Members of the creative association “Design Plus” will present their products.
The fashion forum will be decorated with musical performances, reports the press service of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.
Let us remind that in November last year, the capital of Turkmenistan joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the “Design” category. In this regard, Ashgabat has become part of the UCCN along with 54 other cities around the world, which are committed to developing partnerships to promote the development of the cultural sector.
