Festival of Muslim cinema takes place in the capital of Tatarstan

On September 5, the festival of Muslim cinema started in Kazan, reported RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the event.

52 films from such countries as Russia, India, Morocco, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Greece, Senegal, Great Britain and others take part in the festival.

In the nominations “Full-length feature films”, “Short feature films”, “Full-length documentaries” and “Short documentary films” ten films were presented, another 12 films were presented by Tatarstan filmmakers.

The main theme of the films participating in the festival are universal values, spiritual and moral guidelines, cultural traditions and principles of tolerance and humanism. “An important criterion is the ethics and morality that these paintings carry in their main message”, - Nina Kochelyaeva, head of the selection committee, told the press service of the festival.

The selection committee included Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia Rushan Abbyasov.
