The ancient temple was found on the Peloponnese peninsula in the ancient region of Triphylia. In it was the city of Samik, famous for the magnificent temple of Poseidon.

This building is mentioned by the Greek historian Strabo in his work “Geography”. In accordance with the records, there was an olive grove next to the sanctuary, which was maintained on contributions from all residents of Triphylia.

The archaeologist Erophili-Iris Kolia from the Department of Antiquities of Elida was able to discover the ruins of this temple after many years of preliminary searches.

The building consists of the foundation of a large building, 9.4 meters wide and 80 cm thick.Geophysical research showed that the length of the premises is about 28 meters.

Scientists also explored that before the entrance to the ancient sanctuary an additional building was located, also two inner premises, on the floor of which there was a layer of tiles.

Among the artifacts found in the temple were fragments of a marble vessel, presumably for ritual purposes.

Earlier, an unusual blue slime was found at the bottom of the Caribbean Sea.
