Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets King Charles III in London

National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with King Charles III of the United Kingdom on Sunday during his visit to London.

According to the Watan habarlary news program, Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for medical activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting held at Windsor Castle, King Charles III extended a particularly warm welcome to the National Leader of the Turkmen people. The monarch also said he was pleased to meet Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov again.

Charles III recalled his meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the Gallipoli memorial complex in Türkiye in 2015, noting that the meeting left a lasting impression on him.

King Charles III noted that the National Leader of the Turkmen people is internationally recognized as a respected statesman and Arkadag, emphasizing that it was a great honor for him to meet with a leader who enjoys high international standing.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan thanked the monarch for his warm words and conveyed greetings and best wishes from Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

King Charles III said he warmly remembers the visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the United Kingdom in 2023.

Charles III emphasized that Akhal-Teke horses are regarded as one of the world’s most renowned horse breeds and noted interest in further developing and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in this area.

The king also expressed hope that Turkmen Akhal-Teke horses would participate in international equestrian events to be held in the United Kingdom next year.

During his visit to London, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also met with Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh.
