Maintaining stability and countering the threats of terrorism and extremism in the Central Asian region, as well as the situation in Afghanistan will be discussed at the Fifth Ministerial Meeting in the format of "Central Asia + Russia".
According to the Press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will be held in a remote format on April 22.
The Ministers will consider the prospects for the "sectoral" expansion of the format of the "Six" to areas of mutual interest, including transport, energy, sanitary and epidemic welfare as well as national security.
Today cooperation in the area of trade, rail transport and transit of energy resources through the territory of Afghanistan has been also discussed at a meeting of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki with the representatives of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan.ru reports.
