Hekim Agamammedov from Turkmenistan became the winner of the European Open Judo Championship

Hekim Agamammedov from Turkmenistan become the winner of the European Open Judo Championship 2022 in the weight category up to 66 kg, which is held these days in Oberwart (Austria).

During the preliminary tournament, Agamammedov won the Frenchman Seima Louette, Slovakian Matej Poliak and Dutchmen Ivo Verhorstert. In the semifinal he defeated Aibolat Ystybay and Yermek Amangeldi in the final, both presenting Kazakhstan.

Therefore, the 23-years old Turkmen athlete gained his first big title on the international arena. In August, the Turkmen judo won bronze at the V Islamic Solidarity Games in Türkiye in the weight category up to 66 kg.

Turkmenistan’s team in the Open European Championship 2022 is represented by 28 judoists (16 men and 12 women).

We remind that the winner of the European Judo Open 2022 in the weight category up to 60 kg, become Hakberdy Jumayev.
