In Russia, manufacturers of essential goods were prohibited from changing the volume of packaging

In Russia, manufacturers of essential products are now required to pack them in packages of a volume approved by GOST and not change it. This was reported by the “National News Service” with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

The agency has made changes to GOST regarding the requirements regarding the quantity of packaged goods during production, packaging, sale and import.

“Producers of butter and sunflower oil, vermicelli, sugar, salt, flour, rice, millet, black tea and other essential food products who wish to declare their compliance with GOST must use fixed quantities of the said product”, - the supervisory agency noted.

According to the new rules, buckwheat should be packaged in 500, 1000 or 2000 grams, milk - in 200, 250, 500, 1000 or 2000 milliliters.
