Turkmenistan’s Sole Particleboard Producer Eyes Furniture Production

Agaýana Individual Enterprise, the only producer of particleboard in Turkmenistan, eyes production of wooden doors and various types of furniture.

The enterprise, based in Oguzhan etrap of Turkmenistan’s Mary velayat, is mainly engaged in the production of particleboard from cotton stalk and sawdust. The plant with an area of 3.5 hectares has a particleboard production capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters a year, the country’s official media reported on Friday.

The company employing more than 80 specialists produces particleboards with a thickness of 8 to 24 millimeters and a length of 1.83-2.75 meters.

In summer 2021, the company shipped its products to countries such as Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

In September last year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved the provision of loan of up to $2 million to Agaýana.

Particleboards are mainly used for coating roofs and walls. They are also used in the manufacture of various furniture, shelves and doors, partitions, and home decorations.
