Mini-football in Russia has officially been renamed futsal. The corresponding order of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation was published on the legal information portal.
“Replace the name of the sports discipline “mini football (futsal)” with “futsal,” the text of the document says.
The name “futsal” is international, since this sport is recorded in the database of the International Football Federation (FIFA). Mini-football in Russia now refers to the types previously known as “6x6, 7x7, 8x8 football.”
