In Turkmenistan, preparatory work is being carried out for the commissioning of the Mary-Ahal power plant

In Turkmenistan, a new high-voltage transmission line, Mary-Ahal, will soon be commissioned. Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov informed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov about the ongoing preparations for commissioning, reports the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.

The Mary-Ahal transmission line is one of the stages of the project, which was built as part of the formation of a unified ring power system in the country.

In addition to this, it was reported that the foundation of the combined power plant with a capacity of 1574 MW, which will be built on the territory of Turkmenbashy district of the Balkan region, is being laid.

Having listened to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to organize the opening ceremony of the facilities at a high level.

As a reminder, the intention to create a ring power system in the country was announced in February 2018.
