The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, Rashid Meredov, and the First Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Leonid Anfimov, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
During the negotiations, the parties examined the prospects for intensifying interaction between the CIS member states in the political, trade, economic, environmental, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of sports.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth in the Turkmen capital in May.
The meeting also touched upon the participation of the Turkmen side in events held within the framework of the CIS Executive Committee this year.
