Italy has appointed a new ambassador to Turkmenistan

The Italian authorities have appointed a new ambassador of the republic in Turkmenistan. They became Luigi Ferrari, who has been in the diplomatic service for 30 years, reports the official website of the Italian Embassy.

Luigi Ferrari has replaced Luciano Galli, the Italian ambassador to Turkmenistan, who has headed the Italian diplomatic mission since 2020.

Before being appointed to Turkmenistan, Luigi Ferrari worked at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the General Administration Section of the Department of Political Affairs.

Luigi Ferrari was born in 1959 in Rome (Italy). From 2018 to 2022, he served as the Italian Ambassador to Denmark.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Italy were established on June 9, 1992. Since December 2013, the Embassy of the Italian Republic has been operating in Turkmenistan, and since December 2016, the Embassy of Turkmenistan has been operating in Italy.
