Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran lowered rates on the eastern route of the ITC “North-South”

The “Russian Railways” (RZD) holding, together with the railways of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran, will set uniform reduced rates for the transportation of containers along the eastern route of the “North-South” International Transport Corridor (ITC) for 2023, reports TASS with reference to press release Russian Railways service.

JSC “Russian Railways”, together with the railways of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran, has decided to establish reduced uniform container-kilometer rates for the use of the infrastructure of the eastern route of the ITC “North-South” for 2023, the message says.

It is noted that on the Russian part of the railways from January 1, 2023 there will be a 20% discount on the export and import of loaded containers through the Russian-Kazakh border stations when passing the Kazakh-Turkmen border crossing Bolashak-Serhetyaka.

“The railways of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran will have special tariff rates of 0,15 USD per TEU-km, 0,18 USD per TEU-km and 0,24 USD per TEU-km”, the source notes.
