The maritime merchant fleet of Turkmenistan increased transportation in the first quarter of 2024

Over the 3 months of this year, the Merchant Marine Fleet of Turkmenistan has demonstrated an increase in cargo transportation volumes.

Thus, compared to the 1st quarter of last year, the total volume of cargo transportation increased by 14,1% and amounted to 586,5 thousand tons, according to the website mmf.com.tm.

In general, the fleet plan for cargo transportation for January-March 2024 was fulfilled by 133,3%.

Freight turnover for January-March 2024 amounted to 236,096 million t.km, which is 4,2% higher than the same period in 2023, and the cargo turnover plan for January-March was fulfilled by 188,0%.

Passenger turnover for January-March 2024 increased by 44,5% compared to the corresponding period in 2023 and amounted to 1,910 million passenger km. The plan was completed by 355%.

The number of containers transported amounted to 1,879 TEU, the growth rate was 184,4%, the source notes.
