Lebap public sector employees obliged to contribute 40 manats for the cotton harvesting campaign

On 1 November, 2020 the meeting bringing together executives of all public sector organizations was held in the khyakimlik’s office of the city of Turkmenabad.

According to sources of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, the khyakim said that all efforts needed to be undertaken to successfully fulfill the state cotton harvesting plan. For this end, each public sector employee needs to voluntarily contribute 40 manats from their October salaries to the fund of the velayat agricultural production association.

If there are those who disagree with the decision, company executives have been instructed to use coercive measures towards them. In the worst case scenario the list of those who refuse to pay will be handed over to the deputy khyakim liaising with the law enforcement officers.

Let us recall that state media outlets are reporting the completion of the cotton harvesting campaign. On 3 November, 2020 six etraps of Akhal and Mary velayats of Turkmenistan announced the execution of the cotton harvesting plan.

It has been previously reported that the state-run organizations of Turkmenkalin etrap of Mary velayat had been charged with purchasing additional volumes of cotton. The aforementioned etrap, according to official reports, subsequently fulfilled the plan.
