From June 28 to July 7, ten lecturers of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University completed advanced training courses at Xi'an Shiyou University and Hebei Petroleum University of Technology, located in the cities of Xi'an and Chengde of the People's Republic of China.
The training was conducted in the fields of "Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits" and "Information Systems and Technologies (in the Oil and Gas Industry)." Xi'an Shiyou University and Hebei Petroleum University of Technology prepared a special programme for the 10-day advanced training courses.
The Turkmen lecturers familiarized themselves with the activities of these Chinese petroleum universities, their scientific and research laboratories, educational centres, and museums.During excursions in the host cities, the lecturers visited geological museums, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and the China Science and Technology Museum.
The training of the lecturers took place within the framework of the five-party Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan, signed on October 18, 2024, in the city of Xi'an.
The parties to the memorandum are the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University and four Chinese organizations—Xi'an Shiyou University, Hebei Petroleum University of Technology, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and the China Education Association for International Exchange.
As is known, the grand opening of the Luban Workshop on the premises of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University took place on April 16, 2026.Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in this area is continuing successfully.
In particular, the study visit of the lecturers of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University to China is aimed at ensuring the sustainable development and effective operation of the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan, improving the professional skills and pedagogical competencies of lecturers, studying the experience of specialized partner universities, as well as developing and deepening practical cooperation between Turkmen and Chinese specialists.
The Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan, equipped with the most modern equipment, will create broad opportunities for students and young scientists to study the experience of Chinese specialists in the fields of geology, drilling operations, gas chemistry, and information systems.
In this regard, the new centre will serve as an important base for training highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry in the fields of "Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits" and "Information Systems and Technologies (in the Oil and Gas Industry)." At the same time, the Luban Workshop in Turkmenistan will contribute to the expansion of international exchange in the field of vocational education and the academic mobility of lecturers and students, the implementation of new initiatives, as well as the further development of productive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China in the fields of science, education, and high technologies.
