Mahri Bashimova will take part in a high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova will visit New York to attend a high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on reducing waste to zero, initiated by the Republic of Türkiye, writes nCa.

On March 30, a meeting dedicated to the International Day for a World Without Waste will be held.It will be organized to promote environmentally sound waste management in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the New Urban Agenda and the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal.

The event will also include a presentation of the new modern city of Arkadag, which widely uses non-waste technologies, smart city systems and modern environmental solutions.

It is also noted that during the visit, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will hold meetings with high-ranking UN officials to discuss various issues related to international cooperation in strengthening peace and achieving sustainable development at the regional and global levels.
