Meeting held at the MFA of Turkmenistan with the Head of the WHO Country Office

On 20 April 2026, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Ashgabat Egor Zaitsev.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Minister Azat Ovezov, also took part in the meeting.About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and WHO in priority areas of interaction.Particular attention was paid to advancing draft bilateral and multilateral documents, as well as to preparations for upcoming international events in this area.

The interlocutors also discussed preparations for a planned event in Geneva on the sidelines of the 79th session of the World Health Assembly.Following the meeting, mutual interest in further developing the partnership and strengthening regional cooperation in the field of healthcare was reaffirmed.
