Meeting with the President of Japan International Cooperation Agency was held

On July 16, 2026, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A.Bayramov held a meeting with the President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka.About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the two sides praised the policies of the President of Turkmenistan and Hero Arkadag, aimed at further strengthening Turkmen-Japanese relations.In particular, the importance of the friendly and constructive talks between the President of Turkmenistan, Emperor Naruhito of Japan, and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan, held in Tokyo in April and December 2025, was noted.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and JICA, including the implementation of existing technical cooperation projects, the development of training and advanced training programs for Turkmen specialists, cooperation with the University of Tsukuba on training personnel in the field of hydrogen energy, promotion of the “One Village, One Product” initiative, as well as opportunities for expanding interaction in the areas of digitalization, healthcare, sustainable development and human capital development, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation (DT), economic, industrial and technological exchange, cultural and tourist exchange.
