Turkmenistan aims at expanding relations with Russia in a wide range of areas. Today, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov stated it at the talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, TASS reports.

The Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Russia regularly meet with each other both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Last year, following the talks in Moscow, the Foreign Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Biological Safety between the Governments of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. And they discussed topical areas of bilateral cooperation by phone on the eve of today's talks, on February 17 of this year.
