10 200 hectares of rice have been planted in the Lebap velayat of Turkmenistan this year. This is one of the important food crops that requires a lot of water and constant care, the website "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports.

Rice growers determined the sown areas in advance and carried out preparatory work. They approached the sowing of rice in a timely and orderly manner, which made it possible to achieve the full growth of rice fields.

To achieve the desired success, rice growers maintained the required level of water in the fields, applied phosphorus and urea fertilizers, and cleared weeds that ensured the normal growth of rice. It is planned to yield 47 centners per hectare and a total harvest of 47 thousand 400 tons of rice.

Farmers of the Sayat, Charjev and Dyanev etraps of the velayat are actively working on collecting valuable food crops. They want to adequately contribute to ensuring the food security of the country. Rice is one of the main food products for the population of Turkmenistan and has a high nutritional value.
