Natural Gas Exports From Turkmenistan’s Galkynysh Field Nears 4 bcm

Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern’s facilities for gas purification from sulfur at the Galkynysh gas field processed 4.347 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the first two months of 2021, of which 3.912 bcm were delivered to foreign markets.

High-pressure natural gas is being produced from 44 production wells at the Galkynysh gas field, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Friday.

During the period, the first and second gas purification units at the Galkynysh field fulfilled the production plan for gas condensate and sulfur. In particular, the units produced around 97.5 tons of gas condensate and 182,125 tons of sulfur.

Located in Mary velayat of Turkmenistan, Galkynysh is the world's second-largest gas field with an estimated volume of around 26 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
