New State Tribune Opens in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Thursday participated in the opening of a new complex of the State Tribune along Kopetdag Avenue in the capital Ashgabat, the country’s official media reports.

The total area of the facility for mass celebrations, including parades, is 20,450 square meters. Lined with granite and snow-white marble, the complex includes a two-story building topped with a dome, the President's tribune and a tribune for guests with 2,000 seats.

The complex has a spacious marbled ceremonial hall, halls for receiving guests and special events.

The new complex is installed with special equipment, digital technologies, wireless broadcasting systems and has ideal conditions for holding large-scale celebrations,

The largest in Central Asia 120-meter LED-screen and 8 masts with a height of 30 meters are also installed at the facility. The complex also consists of a helipad and parking lots.

On the occasional of the opening of the State Tribune complex, local artists organized a theatrical performance on the square. The celebration ended with bright fireworks, according to the report.

The former state tribune will be renovated and turned into the Business Center of the Oguzhan Palace Complex under the President of Turkmenistan. The French company Bouygues Batiment International will carry out the renovation.
