Online mentorship programme for Port Control Unit members took place under under the UNODC and the World Customs Organization Global Container Control Programme

Online mentorship programme for PCU members under the UNODC and the World Customs Organization (WCO) Global Container Control Programme was conducted by experts from UNODC and WCO from 19 to 20 January 2021.

The purpose of this event is to strengthen the theoretical and practical skills of the members of Port Control Groups in the field of profiling and inspection of high-risk cargo, as well as the use of modern methods and systems of customs control.

The event was attended by the coordinator for interaction within the CCP from the Central office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, members of the Port Control Groups of the International Customs Terminal of Ashgabat, as well as members of the Port Control Group of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.

During the training program, UNODC and WCO experts presented information on risk analysis, exchanged experience on the use of Internet communications to check, analyze and use the information contained in transport documents.

The participants of the event noted the importance of such international ones in the introduction of new practices in the fight against illegal circulation of goods prohibited for crossing the customs border.
