More than 1,000 retail outlets in Turkmenistan are now linked to the country’s e-commerce system through banks, including online stores and businesses accepting card payments, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan reported.
Halkbank leads with 571 connected outlets, followed by Rysgal Bank with 248. Other participants include Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank with 110, the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs with 37, Senagat Bank with 60, Turkmen-Turkish Bank with 13, and Turkmenbashi Commercial Bank and Daikhanbank with two each.
Most outlets are in Ashgabat, which has 719 connected locations, about 69% of the total. Regional figures are lower: Lebap — 90, Mary — 70, Balkan — 68, Dashoguz — 50, Ahal — 40. Arkadag city has six e-payment points.
Cashless transactions through the e-commerce system reached 2.63 billion manat as of Dec. 1, 2025, up from 1.44 billion manat a year earlier — an increase of nearly 84%, or about 1.2 billion manat.
Turkmenistan is also implementing a comprehensive preferential lending program to support small and medium-sized businesses, agriculture, and social programs.
