On November 26, the Demo-day of the seventh stream of the “Startup Academy” from MCT Agency was held in the conference hall of the “Archabil” hotel.
Demo-day is a kind of presentation of start-up projects of the participants of the Business Incubation Program in front of representatives of the commission consisting of experienced entrepreneurs. Members of the commission get acquainted with each project and choose the most promising of them.
On this day, 12 startup teams presented their business projects. For two months, hard work was underway on the development of business models, each of the teams also prepared a short speech to attract investors to the presented business project.
Many teams included students from a number of Ashgabat universities, which indicates the interest of young people in innovative entrepreneurship.
Startup projects were evaluated by a competent jury of five experienced representatives of technology entrepreneurship and business support specialists.A representative of the Center for Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan (partner of the Academy of Startups), as well as a representative of the International Sponsor, KPMG Caspian, addressed the participants of the ceremony with a welcoming speech.
The presentation was attended by graduates of past streams of the Startup Academy, businessmen and representatives of the venture capital community.
The startup project Biz Bilen was announced as the winner, the founder of which is Jennet Bayramgeldiyeva, a researcher at the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The idea of her startup is to create a discount coupon platform, a service that will make many goods and services more accessible to the people of Turkmenistan.
The second place went to the online payment service using QR codes Öñe, the third place went to the art therapy studio for children “Art-Madness”.
During the seven Business Incubation Programs conducted, the Academy graduated 123 people and 66 start-up teams; many graduates have already launched their own business project.
The sponsors of the 7th stream of the Startup Academy were the Turkmen companies Arçalyk, Ýüpekçi, Daluw, as well as the Turkmenportal website.
