President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in bilateral inter-ministerial consultations, official Turkmen media reported on Monday.
The Head of State said that political consultations scheduled by the visiting Tajik Foreign Minister with his Turkmen counterparts will give him an opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects of the development of bilateral dialogue.
President Berdimuhamedov noted that within the framework of his state visit to Tajikistan, the aspiration of both sides to strengthen fruitful partnership was confirmed and a solid package of documents was signed.
The sides stressed the importance and relevance of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States and the meeting of the Council of Heads of Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which will be held in September in Dushanbe.
It is expected that the results of this meeting will be a significant step in strengthening and expanding cooperation between the countries of Central Asia.
The Turkmen President noted the dynamic development of cooperation in trade and economic, cultural, educational, and transportation areas.
At the end of the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov and Sirojiddin Muhriddin expressed confidence in the development of interstate relations and conveyed best wishes to the people of the two friendly countries.
