President Berdimuhamedov Sends Condolences to India Over Deadly Train Crash

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to the President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the train accident in Odisha state, which resulted in numerous victims and injuries.

On behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan and on his behalf, the Head of State conveyed words of deep sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims at this difficult moment and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

According to the RIA news, three trains - two passenger trains and a freight train - collided on Friday night near the city of Balasore in India. The accident killed 288 people and injured more than 900.

In a live broadcast on India's NDTV, the country's Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the cause of the collision of three trains in the Indian state of Odisha was a faulty electronic interlocking system.
