On 13 June President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov held the session of the Security Council review the performance results of the past five months.
In the course of the session the head of the state made the following appointments:
National Security Ministry Dovrangeldy Bairamov was relieved from his post to be replaced by Yalym Berdyev who had previously held the position of the Defense Minister;
Begench Gundogdyev, who had previously occupied the post of the Border Guard Office, was appointed the Defense Minister;
Shadurdy Durdyev, who had previously held the post of Deputy Defense Minister overseeing education, personnel and military training, was appointed head of the Border Guard Office.
