President Erdoğan Arrives in Turkmenistan

President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Ashgabat to take part in the International Forum of Peace and Trust, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the designation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly.

Erdoğan was received at Ashgabat International Airport by official representatives of Turkmenistan, the country’s official media reported Thursday.

The Turkish president is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Turkmen officials as well as with other heads of state and government attending the event.

Earlier, Ashgabat received President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov; President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan; President of the Republic of Iraq Abdul Latif Rashid; and President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe Carlos Manuel Vila Nova.
