President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has met the President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkir.Welcoming the head of the state and having expressed his sincere gratitude for the accorded hearty welcome, the high-ranking guest noted that, having proved as a reliable and responsible partner of the United Nations, Turkmenistan displays an active and initiative position in the international dialogue, bringing a powerful contribution to the development of solutions of topical issues of the present.
The high-ranking guest underlined that bilateral partnership successfully develops in many spheres.Thus, as an effective positive factor acts the neutral status of our country.At the same time the President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly noted a big contribution of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia located in Ashkhabad in maintenance of political stability in the region, as well as peace and social stability in Afghanistan.
The activities to building Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan (TAP) transmission lines and optic -fibre communication line is the visual evidence of an effective contribution of our country to peaceful development of Afghanistan, restoration of its social and economic infrastructure, integration of the neighbouring country into a modern system regional and world economic relations.
First of all, the special attention is given to realisation of the basic standards on which the United Nations Organization Charter, in particular ensuring of equal conditions in sphere of the international relations for all countries is based.
A huge value is given to timely and all-round realisation of the sustainable development goals.Besides, the President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly sets forward the initiatives aimed at decision-making on such key aspect, as maintenance of gender equality and expansion of participation of women in all spheres of public life, in particular on the international and regional issues.
In this connection, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov especially noted the following Resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan and accepted at the jubilee session of UN General Assembly: The Role and importance of the policy of neutrality in support and strengthening of international peace, security and sustainable development process and The Role of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
At the regional level Turkmenistan together with the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia in December, 2020 established the dialogue of women-leaders of Central Asia.
Besides it, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, our country will continue to develop on the platform of UN General Assembly multilateral cooperation in such key issues of the global agenda, as energy security and stable transport.
As known, earlier at the initiative of Turkmenistan special Resolutions of UN General Assembly in these directions on which basis important large international forums were held, have been accepted.
Among them are the first Global forum on stable transport and multilateral international meeting on stable and reliable transit of energy resources.Again having thanked Mr.Volkan Bozkir for support of our country within the framework of the United Nations, the head of the state confirmed invariable readiness of Turkmenistan for the further assistance to efforts of the United Nations Organization aimed at maintenance of peace, security and sustainable development on the planet.
At the end of the meeting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the 75th session of UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkir expressed confidence in successful continuation of long-term bilateral cooperation, called to promote general well-being and progress, achievement of the global goals of sustainable development.
In the meeting Ms.Christine Weigand, head of the representative office of UNICEF in our country who acts temporarily as UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan also took part. * * * Today the meeting with United Nations delegation led by the President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkir took also place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the exchange of opinions on prospects of bilateral cooperation on topical issues of regional and global problematics uniqueness and value of the status of permanent neutrality of our country in maintenance of global peace, stability and sustainable development were noted. * * * The same day in the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan the meeting with the President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkir also took place.
Issues of increase of contribution of parliaments to achievement of the goals of sustainable development became the subject of interested exchange of opinions.On the basis of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021-2025 and the Working plan from UNICEF the current year the Mejlis carries out corresponding work.
Representatives of the Mejlis also take part in various actions and seminars, organized together with office of the Resident Co-ordinator of the United Nations in our country and profile agencies of the United Nations.
