On January 20, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has visited the capital’s Olympic village and inspected the preparation to coming big international tournaments in our country and training of sportsmen, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Upon arrival in the Olympic village, the President of Turkmenistan has been met by the Vice-premier who supervises health protection sphere and public and sport organizations as well as the head of Ashgabat’s administration, heads of certain ministries and profile departments.
The Head of the State has inspected the condition of sport facilities of unique complex, which has not analogues not only in Central Asia but also far beyond it.
In 2021, our country will host cycling track racing, qualification matches of the Davis Cup International Tennis Tournament.Having asked about preparation to these competitions, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov listened to the report of Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs G.
Agamyradov.Further, the Minister of Health and Medical Industry has reported to the Head of the State that foreign sportsmen would receive vaccination from infectious diseases, for which all necessary resources are available.
After, the Head of the State has visited indoor complex of the Olympic village, which would host the World Track Cycling Championship.The Head of the State has listened to the report of the Ministers of Sport and Youth Affairs on preparation to the World track cycling championship.
It was informed that it is expected that sportsmen from almost 40 countries of the world would take part in the competition.The competitions will be held in 10 categories.
Taking into account that competitions will be held separately for men and women, 20 races would be organized.Having listened to the report, the Head of the State focused again on the necessity of hosting competitions on high level, which meets international requirements.
The bicycles, which would be sued by Turkmen sportsmen, have to be decorated with national symbols and the main thing is that Turkmen flag has to fly above our sportsmen.
Having walked to indoor tennis court of the Olympic village, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that hosting of qualification round of the Davis Cup International Tennis Tournament in Ashgabat is a convincing evidence of growing authority of neutral Turkmenistan in international sport arena and excellent opportunity for further wide popularization of sports including tennis in our country.
Vice-premier M.Geldiniyazov has reported on works carried out in the spheres under his supervision and expanded high-level preparation to physical, training, sport and mass health improving events planned on occasion of the 30 anniversary of sacred independence as well as to international competitions planned in our country.
Having listened to the report and summing up the outcomes of the visit to the Olympic village, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of coming big sport competitions and in this regard, has requested Vice-premier M.
Geldiniyazov to provide high-level organization and to prepare comprehensively to these events.The President of the country has requested relative officials to use the practice of organization of big international competitions by Turkmenistan, which has first-class sport infrastructure, which meets high international standards, efficiently and wished success in fulfilment of set objectives.
