President of Turkmenistan and Iran agreed to increase cooperation

The possibilities of building up bilateral partnership taking into account the existing prospects and modern realities were discussed today by the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran during a telephone conversation held on the initiative of the Iranian side, the information program “Vatan” of the State television reported.

At the very beginning of the conversation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the bright holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Oraza.

Following the conversation, the sides discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda and further joint measures to strengthen friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.

It was noted that neighboring countries this year celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Talking about the importance of the cultural and humanitarian cooperation development, president Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi spoke in favor of partnership extension in the sphere of science, education, culture and art, sports.

During the conversation the heads of states also exchanged opinions on certain international and regional issues, assuming mutual interest. Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi stated the similarity or coincidence of views on many issues, especially regarding cooperation in the field of strengthening peace and security, ensuring sustainable development.
