President of Turkmenistan Makes Working Trip to Mary Province

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to Mary Province on Tuesday, where he reviewed seasonal fieldwork and progress under the National Rural Program. He also held a meeting with agricultural sector officials, according to Turkmenistan’s state media.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev reported on the activities of research institutes involved in grain production, crop farming and cotton growing, as well as the introduction of scientific methods in seed production and efforts to increase agricultural efficiency. He provided updates on ongoing campaigns across the regions, including Mary Province.

Officials briefed the president on agricultural reforms, comprehensive scientific efforts to improve soil fertility, and testing of new crop varieties using advanced technologies.

The meeting also included a report on plant breeders working to develop high-yield varieties adapted to the country’s soil and climate conditions.

President Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of diversifying the work of research institutions and called for broader use of international experience in plant breeding, agricultural technologies and personnel training. He issued specific instructions to sector leaders.

The president concluded the meeting by wishing participants good health, family well-being and success in their work.
