President of Turkmenistan Offers Condolences to Sri Lanka After Floods

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended his condolences to President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake following severe floods caused by heavy rains that resulted in numerous deaths, injuries and widespread destruction, Turkmenistan’s state media reported Tuesday.

The Turkmen leader conveyed words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds have hit Southeast Asia over the past week.

At least 366 people have died and 367 remain missing after the floods in Sri Lanka, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
