Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka discussed issues of expanding cooperation

Inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs political consultations between Turkmenistan and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka were held in the format of a videoconference. The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations in various fields and outlined priorities for further interaction, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

During the consultations, diplomats noted the significant potential for deepening cooperation in areas such as the oil and gas and chemical sectors, transport logistics, textiles, tourism and education. The prospects for exchanging visits at various levels and intensifying inter-parliamentary relations were considered.

Particular attention was paid to improving the legal framework of bilateral partnership.Participants in the consultations emphasized the importance of regular inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs political consultations, establishing close contacts between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries and holding business forums with the participation of business circles of Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka to enhance economic ties.
