President of Turkmenistan returned to Ashgabat after completing a visit to Qatar

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned to Ashgabat, having completed a one-day visit to Qatar, the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television reported today in the morning broadcast.

During his official visit the head of Turkmenistan held talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, also visited a match of the 1/8 finals of the World Cup between the teams of the Netherlands and the USA.

In the box for honored guests of the Khalifa Stadium, where the game was held, the head of the Turkmen state held a brief conversation with the Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of Qatar Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulomaziz Al Thani and President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino.

At the end of the match, which ended with a 3:1 victory for the Netherlands, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to Doha International Airport, from where he left for his homeland.

Upon arrival in Ashgabat at the International Airport, the head of state was met by officials, including the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan Ghanem bin Abdullah Al-Romayhi, who congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on a successful visit, expressing confidence that its results will contribute to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
