President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will participate in the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, scheduled for November 1516 in Tashkent, press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported Thursday.
The summit will also include President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and the head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Kaha Imnadze.
Leaders are expected to discuss strengthening regional cooperation, implementing joint projects and initiatives in priority sectors, and exchanging views on key regional and international political issues.
The consultative meeting is expected to result in the adoption of a package of multilateral documents aimed at further developing cooperation in Central Asia.
The initiative to hold regular consultative meetings of the region’s heads of state was proposed by the Uzbek leader at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in September 2017.
