Priority areas of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation discussed in Tokyo

On May 7, 2026, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A.Bayramov, met with Chairman of the Committee on Environment of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan and a member of the Japan-Turkmenistan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Takuma Miyaji.

The parties discussed expanding the potential of inter-parliamentary diplomacy, specifically taking interaction between political parties to a new level.In this regard, the importance of establishing direct contacts between the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan was noted.

Furthermore, views were exchanged on promoting practical partnerships in mutually beneficial areas such as environmental protection, agriculture and horse breeding.
