Registration for the Central Asian competition “Film in 48 hours” has begun

Registration has started for the annual short film competition “Film in 48 hours” among filmmakers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Participants will have to come up with a plot, shoot and edit a film in just two days.

Registration for the competition will last until February 22. Filming days will be held on February 24-25. 15 minutes before the start, competitors will learn a creative task - a specific subject, place and phrase that should appear in their paintings.

Based on the selection results, the best 48 works will be selected, among which the jury will determine the winners in various categories. The main prize is training at the New York Film Academy.

The competition is held annually with the support of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan. Both film industry professionals and amateurs can take part. The goal is to develop cinema in Central Asia and strengthen regional ties.

Registration of participants takes place on the competition website. A regulation is also published there, which spells out all the requirements for competitive works. In particular, the duration of films should not exceed 4 minutes. Filming in different languages with subtitles is permitted.
