Report Videoconference with the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan Mr.Azat Myradov and Mr.Toru Kobayashi, Head of the International Relations Department of the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo-2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games

During a meeting with Mr.Toru Kobayashi, Head of the International Relations Department of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan discussed preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics in the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic, as well as views of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on the COVID-19 global pandemic and its impact on the Olympic Games.

The NOC of Turkmenistan noted that they are always ready to support the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee and that only with joint efforts we could overcome this circumstances, and that we are looking forward when our delegation will take part in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games.

At the meeting, the quarantine regulations in Japan and their effect on the accommodation allotment of national team during the Olympic Games were discussed, and proposals were made to the Organizing Committee to create training conditions for the athletes who will be staying in quarantine.

An exchange of views on the “Health Base” of the Olympic Village also took place.

The National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan noted that they plan bring whole delegation of Turkmenistan to the pre camp in Tendo, Yamagata Prefecture, in order to smoothly pass the quarantine period.
